I have always been a big fan of DC Comics. I know all the basics of all the major characters in the DC universe, but I have always wanted to dive deeper. I started wanting to read all of the Volume 1 Flash comics as Flash is my favorite of the DC Superheroes. As I started, I realized how much I was missing out on whenever there was a crossover between Green Lantern or Justice League or whatever. I felt I wasn't getting the whole story so I then started reading Green Lantern and Justice League. Still feeling left out on the Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, etc stories I finally came to the conclusion that I had choose all or nothing.
I'm not a big fan of the Golden age (although I understand it's importance to Comic Book history) the stories always seemed too simplistic and out of touch to me. So I decided to start with my all time favorite Showcase #4 (the first appearance of Barry Allen as the Flash), which most consider to be the beginning of the Silver age of comics. I now have a starting comic.
I have been a fan of Mike's Amazing World of DC Comics (www.dcindexes.com) for a while now. He compiled a list of every DC comic ever made in chronological order. I now have a reading list.
All that remains now is to start reading. I will update this blog as much as possible to give readers a feel for what I am experiencing. I am not, as I'm sure you can tell, a professional writer so expect spelling errors, grammatical errors, etc but please ignore them for the sake of the story as a whole. I would like to thank you for taking this journey with me and letting me share my story. Lets get reading!!
